Main Components of an Industrial Block Ice Machine

  Condenser System: Water-cooled, air-cooled or evaporative condensing configurations can be selected according to machine capacity, ambient temperature, local water availability and installation conditions.

  Refrigerant Flow Control: The thermal expansion valve regulates refrigerant flow according to refrigeration load to maintain stable evaporator operation and consistent block ice formation during each freezing cycle.

  Automatic Control System: The control system manages refrigeration, freezing and ice-harvesting operations while displaying system status and operating conditions for easier monitoring and maintenance.

  Direct-Cooling Evaporator Module: Water freezes directly inside the block ice molds through an aluminum plate evaporator, eliminating the traditional brine tank and simplifying the overall system layout.

   

  Ice Harvesting System: The harvesting mechanism releases completed ice blocks after each freezing cycle and transfers them for handling or storage, reducing manual operating requirements.

  Multiple Block Weight Options: Current standard configurations use 10 kg, 20 kg and 50 kg blocks depending on machine capacity, while custom single-block weights from approximately 5 kg to 100 kg can be evaluated.

   

  Direct Cooling / Brine Options: Kendall can configure direct-cooling or brine-type block ice systems according to hygiene requirements, investment budget, automation level and project scale.
